Finger Paints Special Effects Swatches

I interrupt this, your usual Christmas manicures, to show you this AMAZING set of polishes by Finger Paints! This is the Finger Paints Special Effects collection that comes out in January, and I was lucky enough to get a set of them before they hit the shelves and I have to tell you that if you like flakies then you need to run out and get these as soon as they come out.
I will eventually dedicate an entire manicure to all of the colors one by one, but I just had to try these out.
From thumb to pinky, I am wearing Flecked, Twisted, Flashy, Asylum, and Motley. I swatched them all over China Glaze Liquid Leather to show off the colors, but they pop on any color really.
Here are macros of them all for you:

Flecked is a green flakie, that flashes blue/teal.

Twisted is just insanity, I can see blue, green, red, orange and bronze.

Flashy has a red/orange/green flash to it.

Asylum has blue/orange/bronze flash.

Motley looks like a mermaid tail with teal/green/blue flash.

Christmas mani

I wanted to retry the red tip mani that I did earlier with the bright colors, but this time used ones with subtle shimmer instead. Turns out I like this much more than the other! The base is the Revlon Emerald City I had on, with a double stripe of Zoya Karina. They both have an understated shimmer to them and they work very well together.

Revlon Emerald City

Here I found a beautiful new polish on sale at ULTA (2 bucks, aww yeah!) from Revlon called Emerald City. It’s a Matte Suede polish that follows in OPI’s footsteps, though it’s definitely not as matte as I would have hoped. It’s still a very shiny polish, but still very pretty. The formula is pretty nice on it as well, I’ve really never had a problem with any of their polishes. Since it wasn’t as matte as I’d hoped for I went ahead and added a coat of Seche and oh boy I’m glad I did.

It’s loaded with shimmer! Look at that beautiful Emerald City hiding under there. I blurred the thumb so you could get a better idea of how shimmery it is.
If you’re looking for an subtle classy looking Christmas green, look no further than Emerald City.
(And yes I did trim down my nails they were getting out of control!)

Zoya Christmas Mani

Here is one of my first Christmas manicures! I used Zoya Holly which is the absolutely perfect green for this, and China Glaze Ring in the Red. I really cannot get enough of the RitR. It’s been on my toes since I got it and I just had to think of something to use it for on my nails. I just can’t stop looking at it, it really is a perfect red glitter. If you still don’t have it I urge you to run out now and grab it before I buy them all up!!
I did add crystals to my thumb, I was originally going to do my entire mani with them but I decided it was already busy enough and only ended up putting them on my thumbs.
What are you rocking this month?

The Great Divide Color Club swatch

Is crackle polish still a trendy thing?
Ah well, I never was a trendy person. I found this great looking crackle at Meijer called The Great Divide. It’s a beautiful color, and I actually wish it wasn’t a top coat but an actual color, I’d wear it out. When I first saw it, it reminded me of Glitter Gal Lizard Belly but it’s not a holo polish. It’s a blue/green/teal jelly-ish polish that is loaded with gold and blue micro shimmer glitter. This is my first encounter with Color Club polish and I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back for more. The base coat is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Lickety-Split Lime.
Anyone know of an actual polish dupe for this one?
