Indie polish maker FEVERlacquer decided to get into the eyeshadow game, and let me tell you, we are all winners because of it.
Recently Casandra sent me a trio of colors based on the Hunger Games and I knew when I opened the envelope that I had something special.

(All swatched on bare skin, with no primer)
L-R: Rue’s Wildflowers, Effie’s Trinket, and District 12 Soot
Rue’s Wildflowers is a delicate iridescent lilac purple with hints of pink shimmers in it. It’s very sheer, but build-able. Here I used three heavy handed swipes.
Effie’s Trinket (my absolute favorite of the bunch), is a brassy and bold metallic gold with pink sparkles. It’s smooth like butter to apply, with ultimate color payoff.
District 12 Soot is a basic flat/matte black shadow. It’s much smoother than the average pressed matte blacks I’ve used before, and it is a lovely crease and liner shadow.
Here I used Rue’s Wildflowers in the corners, District 12 Soot at the crease and a lining of Effie’s Trinket, (Unfortunately it was raining and I had to use the flash to get a good shot). I had a time getting Rue to build without primer, but that was my own fault.
In this picture I wore Effie’s Trinket and District 12 Soot, it is by far my favorite look. Effie glided on smooth as can be, and blended perfectly with District 12.
I ended up wearing the last look for the rest of my day today with no drama or fall out, and had quite a few complements on it. My favorite of the trio was Effie’s Trinket followed by District 12, mainly because I like bright and bold. Don’t get me wrong- I don’t dislike Rue’s Wildflowers, I just don’t see myself wearing it as much as the other two.
This trio will cost you $12.50, should you decide you want it (and you should), or, you can also buy them individually with a choice of loose shadow for $5 or cream shadow for $5.25. Also, they’ll be in pots, and not in sample baggies like mine.
You can like FEVERlacquer here to get information on when the shadows will be sold, and you can buy her polish here.
