Revlon Royal VS China Glaze Ride the Waves

Seems like it's been a while since I've had a Versus post, so today we'll be looking at Revlon Top Speed Fast Dry in Royal versus China Glaze Ride the Waves.

This is three coats of each, and neither has a top coat, though honestly Royal doesn't need one. I was a bit disappointed in Ride the Waves, as it dried weird and a bit matte on me.

They are both beautiful (I may be biased because I love blue polish so much) but Royal will always and forever be the best jelly in the entire polish game.

Here's a bottle shot for you:

Memorial Day Manicure Fun

Happy Memorial Day to all my US followers, and to everyone else, have a happy Monday!
I wanted to do a manicure relating to Memorial day, as I've got quite a few members of my family who were in the service, and my husband, who still is. I would like to take some time out and thank you (or yours) for service, because I know that in no way could I do that.
Now, on to the fun stuff!! The red is China Glaze Hey Sailor, and the accent nail is Sinful Colors Blue by You. The tips are OPI Pirouette My Whistle, L.A. Girl Celebrate, and one star pulled from a new bottle of Wet n Wild's Stars and Stripes.

Tribal Nails ft MASH Nails Nail Plate

I recently got a set of MASH nail image plates to test out, so I wanted to test as many images off their plates as possible in one manicure and this is the resulting art.

I tried to make it as cohesive as possible, so I went for a Southwestern theme, including a gradient with SpaRitual's new Pigment line Poppy (the red) and Indigo (the blue).
The silver background stamps are Revlon Silver Dollar, and the black is a mix of China Glaze Liquid Leather, Wet 'N Wild Black Creme and Konad Special Polish.

Now as to the quality of the stamps; let me say that I have a lot (a lot) of image plates.
No names, name brand, off brand, Japanese brands... etc. and these were seriously top of the line image plates.
I had NO problem picking up any of the images, and I used multiple polishes to try and screw it up.

If you're in the market to get some new plates, you should definitely look into these. They don't seem to be on the site as of posting this, but you can get them here.

MASH Nails Nail Stamp Image Plates First Thoughts

MASH Nails set me their new set of image plates to try out- and let me tell you, this is a quality set.
I’ll have a few manicures coming week to showcase the new plates, but for now I wanted to jot down my initial thoughts after using it this weekend.
I did not purchase MASH’s first set of plates because they seemed to be copies of popular Konad plates that I already had. This set though is all new images, playful single images, beautiful flowers, intricate scroll work and some really great full nail images. (See full set images here
(Image used with permission from Colores de Carol)
I’m really quite pleased with this set from MASH Nails, there is a variety of unique images and though I’ve only used a few of the plates they seem to be as good as, if not better than Konad.

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard

I was so so so very excited to hear about OPI teaming up with the Amazing Spider-Man for a collection; then I saw the promotion shots… I took it with a grain of salt though, because  colors can get screwy, maybe things don’t translate properly, etc.
Then I saw it in person. I am bummed beyond words with this collection, as a comic book fan I feel like they really missed the mark here.
This is Just Spotted the Lizard, which is a beautiful duochrome color- and it was a beautiful duochrome color when Chanel did it last June as Peridot.

The entire collection just seems like some thrown together set of Chanel dupes, and not that I am not glad they did, because I wasn’t going to ever own Peridot; but that it doesn’t fit the comic at all.

FEVERshadow Hunger Games Inspired Eyeshadow Review

Indie polish maker FEVERlacquer decided to get into the eyeshadow game, and let me tell you, we are all winners because of it.
Recently Casandra sent me a trio of colors based on the Hunger Games and I knew when I opened the envelope that I had something special.

Cult Nails Time Traveler

Tonight I want to show you the indie darling Cult Nails Time Traveler.

I'm pretty obsessed with the show Dr. Who, and I'm assuming that's where this got it's name. It's a gorgeous blue creme that leans toward jelly with that squishy wet look, but it doesn't have the issues that jellies do.
I had no issues, and I'm so pleased with this. I'll be purchasing more from Cult I'm sure. ^_^
Also, stay tuned for some Tardis nail art featuring this polish.
